So far I have not played a summoner Druid. Someone said that you can also have a Poison Creeper and a vine, but I haven't tested that.
With lv 16 Raven (the max that makes sense in N11), you can have 5 Dire Wolves AND 2 Elementals. The big difference to vanilla is that you can have a lot more summons. IMHO, if it is called an Elemental, then it should also deal some elemental damage (cold would fit best). The summons themselves aren't changed much from vanilla, the Elemental is pretty much the same as a Grizzly.
